Makeup removal is the utter most important step in skincare. Unclean face leads to clogged pores, excessive sebum production, appearance of white/blackheads, and in general rough and poor skin conditions. If you have any of these symptoms, you may want to review your cleansing routine. Even for people who don’t usually wear makeup, I recommend using an oil cleanser to deep cleanse once or twice a week, to dissolve the sebum built up over time and unclog the pores. The oil cleanser I’ll review today is Heimish’s All Clean Balm, which is an amazing product not only removes makeup, but cleanses the pores.
Heimish usually does it very well with packagings. However, this All Clean Balm does not meet my standards 100%. Don’t get me wrong, It looks pretty, inheriting Heimish’s brand design. The balm is housed in a white tub with matte finish and a whimsical feather design with Heimish’s rose gold theme. Such a pretty and feminine packaging that is perfect for gifts. (I would be super happy if I receive this as a gift).
But it is the lid inside that I’m not satisfied with. Once you twist open the lid, it has this soft plastic inner lid which holds the spatula. This lid is rather difficult to close. I would much prefer a lid that fits. The spatula does not have a groove to fit into, but sits loosely.
However, the product inside is everything you could ask for in a makeup remover and more.
The All Clean Balm is a white solidified oil, that is soft to the touch. Once spread over the face, it melts into oil with your body temperature. It feels so luxurious spreading the balm over the skin. The oil then emulsifies into a milky solution when water is added, which can be rinsed off easily with water without any oil residue.
This product does not contain any fragrance (quite rare for Korean brands). Therefore, it smells of the oils it’s made up of.
The first ingredient in Heimish All Clean Balm is Ethylhexyl Palmitate, which is derived from palm oil. It is a lighter oil comparing to other plant based oil such as oilve or coconut. Other ingredients in the balm include shea butter, donkey milk and various plant and fruit extracts and oils.
It removes all my makeup without much effort needed. Including the “known to be difficult to remove” kissme mascara, gel and liquid eyeliner, lip stick and lip tint. Leaving the skin clean and soft.
In addition, it cleanses the pore, which beats the Muji Mild Cleansing Oil that I love. I don’t see any blackheads or whiteheads on my nose when I use this cleanser.
I also love its convenience for taking around, there are no spills or leaks to worry about. I normally scoop some in a contact lens case to take with me for short trips.
The Heimish All Clean Balm retails for 18000 Won for 120 ml, which equates to about $22. It’s not cheap, but is comparable with Banila Co’s Clean It Zero balm, and 1/5 price of the Eve Lom Cleanser (which is mineral oil based).
