Acne Prone Skin Must Have – Nacific Jeju Artemisia Essence Review

It’s pretty rare that I open up a second bottle of the same product right after finishing one. Not because these products are not good enough, but because there are so many good products in the market right now and my job is to try as many as possible and pick out the best ones. But I’m up to my second bottle of this Jeju Artemisia Essence from Nacific. I have yet to find a better product for keeping my skin in balance and free from acne.

Artemisia has been one of the hottest skincare ingredient in the past year in Korean skincare and mainly targeting at acne-prone skins due to its anti-bacterial properties. I have tried a coupe of Artemisia products and Nacific Jeju Artemisia Essence have been the most effective at keeping my skin clear.

Packaging

Nacific Jeju Artemisia Essence comes in a dark green hard plastic bottle. The packaging is sturdy and sleek. The plastic bottle doesn’t add too much weight to the toner and makes it easy to handle and carry out. The opening is a good size where you could control the amount and wouldn’t pour out too much.

Ingredients

This product only contains two ingredients: Artemisia Lavandulaefolia Extract (98%) and 1,2-Hexanediol.

Artemisia Lavandulaefolia is an oriental herb that has been used in traditional medicine in Korea for a long time. It has been used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, constipation, pain, belly pain, asthma, and gynecological problems. The plant exhibits strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Most Artemisia products I’ve seen have used Artemisia plants originated in Ganghwa Island, whereas Nacific uses Artemisia from Jeju Island, which I think is more difficult to obtain due to the more distant geographical location.

1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic preservative and moisture binding agent.

Colour

Light yellowish, greenish liquid.

Scent

Natural herbal scent. Refreshing and soothing.

Texture

This essence is pretty much like water, flows well and absorbs well into the skin. It is slightly softer than water and conditions the skin.

Application

I like to dispense the essence directly into the palms and smooth it all over my face. The essence is slightly conditioning and softens the skin. It absorbs well into the skin without any residue, but makes the skin soft and smooth.

Results

A few benefits I could see with this product include:

  • Hydrates and plumps the skin
  • Softens and conditions the skin
  • Balances the skin so my skin is never too oily or too dry
  • Stabilises the skin and reduces breakouts
  • Strengthens the skin so acne heals faster and reduces the frequency of breakouts

After I finished my first bottle, I’ve switched to another essence for a while and found my skin start to “de-stabilise”, where I could feel it slowly losing the water-oil balance and acne would develop more frequently. After a recent breakout, I’ve decided to open a second bottle of Nacific Jeju Artemisia Essence and could feel my skin becoming more stable again.

Price

Nacific Jeju Artemisia Essence retails for 40,000 Won (~$47 AUD) for 150ml of product.

It is a bit pricier than what I’d expect for this product, considering Artemisia is not an expensive herb. However, the price is in line with similar Artemisia essences in the market and the 150ml lasted me almost a year with daily use.

Verdict

Amongst all the Artemisia products I’ve tried, Nacific Jeju Artemisia Essence has been the most effective at keeping my acne-prone skin clear and stable. Highly recommend if you’re struggling with acne-prone skin.
